“If I’ve gotta walk, that’s just what I’ll do/ I’m getting there slowly, but I’m going with you,” Solange Igoa sings on the latest single from Portland, Oregon’s Glitterfox. Where Bruce Springsteen would ride a Cadillac through the night with his love, Igoa and their bandmate/spouse Andrea Walker instead huddle together in the dark to fend off the car thieves, content to walk if it means they’re together. “The song came to me in the middle of the night, not long after hearing these people outside our bedroom window trying to break into our neighbor’s car,” Walker explains. While the resulting track traces the outline of that experience lyrically, the Boss-esque narrative thunders forward on the realization that no matter what may happen, the love they feel supercedes any threat or pain. “It’s always over before it begins/ If I had it all, I would do it again,” Igoa sings, drummer Blaine Heinonen pounding out a triumphant beat. “The song is a reminder that no matter what happens to Solange, to me, to us, that I wouldn’t change a thing,” Walker adds. “My heart may one day be utterly destroyed, but it will always have been worth it.” - Lior Phillips
